My aunt and I were just talking and her puppy was neutered in July and ever since then the dog is always itchy ...He is constantly scratching his penis, he wakes at night just to itch...He cries out loud when scratching his penis, my aunt is at her wits end...she takes him to the pet constantly, and can find no explanation for this..Bld work came back fine...Has had no urinalyis, changed pet food(recommended by her vet) very expensive....her vet offered to refer her to a dog dermatoligist in Guelph, ON..but she lives in NFLD...Do you have any suggestions as to why he has such a itchy penis...Thanks Michelle

If you ahven't tried Benadryl then you can try giving 1 25mg Benadryl up to twice a day. Or he could ahve a contact allergy to something that he is laying on. If he has any wool blankets or bedding I would try a different material. Or if he is laying on a freshly mopped floor may try wait until it dries totally or change the floor detergent used. Other than those thing then I would try the Deramtoligist cause they do see skin all day long. Hope these things help. Skin issues can be tricky.
