My cat is urinating all over my house, he just started doing this whitin the last two months. Sometimes we see blood in his urine. I was just wondering if you could tell me what could be causing this?

Blood in the urine associated with increased frequency and urinating in many locations is most often caused by cystitis. In a male cat there is a risk of blockage of the urethra which is very serious so you need to keep a close eye on him. The main risk factor for urinary tract disease is obesity, so a weight loss program is urgent. Stress is also thought to be a factor, sometimes changes in the household cause this. Pheromone sprays may discourage him urinating all over, but they don't solve the underlying problem. He may need medication if he has a chronically inflamed bladder, and it's also a good idea to get a vet to examine him to rule out other more serious causes of urinary problems.
