my dog is coughing like something stuck in his throat but I don't think there is. He has done this several times a day for the past 2 or 3 days. it is not constant and may be more of a hack than a cough. What can I do for him?

I have a chihuahua as well and he did this about a year ago. He may ahve some allergic bronchitis. You could try giving Benadryl he would get 1/2 of a 25mg tablet of plain Benadryl . If that doesn't help then he may need a stronger medication.
