Back Right Leg

I have a pretty wild Shiba Inu that just last night started favoring her back right Leg. She will not putt any pressure on it and is not as crazy as she normally is. There is no sign of pain, as I applied pressure to all parts of the foot/leg. No nails are out of place, no bleeding, and she seems to be just fine except when she wants to run around. She has started to chew on the foot, which leads me to believe that something is bothering her. I don't necessarily think that I need to waste money on bringing her into a vet yet, but was wondering your thoughts. Thank you for your help!

Hi and thanks for your inquiry. If your pet seems like she is in pain (for example not putting weight on her foot and licking her foot) you need to "waste money" by going to the vet. You cannot give doggies anything like advil they have special pain meds for animals that your vet carries. She may have a hip problem or a proprioceptor issue and you would need to take her to the vet.

thanks and i hope your puppy gets better!

Kristina, Thank you for your response.  I don't want to make it seem like this dog is a burden and that I am going to waste money on her.  I treat her like a child to be honest :).  I was curious though if you have ever heard of this kind of thing before?  I guess since it just came out of the blue, I am a little leary as to how it happened.  To give a little more detail, she was running around our apartment and barking pretty late in the night and I had to put her in her kennel.  Well when I took her out about 15 minutes later, she came out limping so to speak.  Just seemed so weird.  I apprecaite your help.
