George

10 year old male neutered cat. is usually independent and "opinionated", eats well, very vocal and mischevious. Is now crouching and slinking around, growling frequently and looks very uncomfortable. Last fecal I can attribute (have two cats)to him were small round balls. Constipated? Have not taken a temp/ has been urinating in unacceptable places

Symptoms: Constipation, Lethargy, Vomiting, Behavioral

   Hi there, I am sorry to hear about George's problem.  It certainly could be constipation, but it also could be a urinary issue - I never take chances with male cats as far as things like this, due to the fact that they can get easily blocked urinary tracts.  This sounds unlikely, due to the fact that you say he is urinating in different places.  However, even so, I would advise a visit to your vet as soon as possible - even constipation can be a big problem for cats, as they may need to be manually evacuated, and some of these cats never can defecate normally again due to the stretching of the rectum and breaking of the muscles that suspend it in the body.  These cats often need corrective surgery to live a normal life.  So, bottom line:  take George to your vet as soon as possible!
