Hello there Ashish, Sorry to hear about Danny's problem. I am unable to provide you with any numbers or clinic details, but can speculate on what might be the cause of the problem. Sadly, that isn't going to help Danny if he does require treatment, in which case you will have no alternative but to take him to a veterinary clinic. Firstly, other useful information would be: 1) How has his appetite been the last 3 days? Has he been drinking water? If so, does he vomit it back straight after eating or does it stay down? 2) What is his feces like? Does he have diarrhea? 3) Do you have a thermometer handy, which you could use to measure his rectal temperature? We also need to differentiate here between vomiting and coughing. Infectious tracheobronchitis (kennel cough) can appear as if a dog has something stuck in his throat, it is a dry tickly cough that can appear like vomiting. Other forms of cough, beside infectious causes, can be due to heart problems (how is his general breathing?) or a foreign body that has been inhaled, or something like a tumor. If it is definitely vomiting rather than coughing, please read my article Help my dog is vomiting. If Danny really did have something stuck in his esophagus, then you would probably be able to feel the lump from the outside. It is more common to have objects stuck in the stomach, either way, both of these scenarios require surgery. You really need to have Danny examined by a veterinarian. Until you can see one, don't offer Danny any food until he has stopped this 'vomiting'. Make sure he has plenty of water available.

Every day I see pets come into my clinic injured and unwell. Its always so upsetting knowing that treatment could be taken a lot further only if the owner had taken out pet insurance. You have health insurance, so should your pet... Dr Brooks
