Hi there When did you feed her last and what do you normally feed her with? How often does she normally eat?
-
User says:
i fed her last about 2 and a half weeks ago and she usually eats fuzzies
-
User says:
but she is very hungry and looking around her tank i feel bad
-
User says:
oh and i try to feed her once every week
-
User says:
right now we are completly snowed in and i cannot get to a pet store the pet store is 2 hrs away and i just cant watch her look for food in her tank anymore
-
Torunn says:
You could try to feed her any meat but this might be difficult as snakes are triggered to eat by their instinct and Buttercup might for that reason not be too keen on minced meat or chicken fillets. Is is worth trying though, but I would get to the pet store as soon as possible as she needs to eat what is natural to her not to develop deficiencies (ie whole carcasses). But in an emergency you could try chicken.. wings, legs, etc? Pieces of meat? Try and wiggle the food in front of hear to create the illusion that it is moving. If she wont eat it then dont worry if you have to wait until tomorrow. Snakes can go an amazingly long time without food. Hope you can dig your way out of the snow soon!!! Torunn Beurling

i do have a grocery store up the road a little ways i could walk there if i had to

User says:
not raw meat right?
-
User says:
i mean i wouldnt give her raw chicken but would she eat a peice of steak or something like that just to make her happy for 2-3 days??

Torunn says:
No I think I would go for some cooked chicken wings, or chicken legs depending on how big the snake is. Raw chicken can contain salmonella so try to avoid that. Good luck! Torunn
