my bitch has swollen nipples and is very sleepy all the time, she carries a toy around which she hasn't done before. She also keeps trying to bury her food?? could this be a phantom pregancy as i know she hasn't actually mated with any dogs??

It certainly sounds like it. There is no treatment neccessary and it should resolve within the next 10-14 days.
