Dogs gastrointestinal tracts can be extremely sensitive to rich foods that play no role in the normal diet. What does her normal diet consist of? The most common cause of vomiting (or perhaps more likely here: regurgitation) is the body reacting to remove a food substance that it is not used to. How many times has she vomited now? Is she relatively bright alert and responsive? Is she up to date on her vaccinations? There are other causes of vomiting (please see Help My Dog is Vomiting article) and whilst I cannot definatively diagnose the problem here i would suggest that a period of with holding food (perhaps 12 hrs) but allowing free access to water will allow her stomach to settle. If the vomiting becomes worse and does not abate I would suggest calling your local veterinarian.

Every day I see pets come into my clinic injured and unwell. Its always so upsetting knowing that treatment could be taken a lot further only if the owner had taken out pet insurance. You have health insurance, so should your pet... Dr Brooks
