Chuckie

Chuckie is 8 years old and recently started drinking by dipping his paw into his water and licking it off. Can you tell me why?

Thank you very much for your quick response Dr. Nunez. Would you feel the same if I told you that he is not drinking any more than usual?

So all he's doing is placing his paw in his water bowl?  That's no big deal.  Is he producing more urine than normal?  Another common fnding with diabetics is that they will have litter stuck to their paws.  It is not an abnormal behavior for cat to sort of play with their water.  I've even seen them stick their heads under a leaky faucet :-)
