my cat is consipated

Symptoms: Constipation

    First be sure he's urinating.  Male cats that have urethral obstruction are most commonly mistaken by owners as being constipated.  They will squat down in the litter box and strain and vocalize in pain.  Either way he needs to see the vet, but if he's not able to urinate, this is a life threatening emergency.  If he's peeing but cant defecate, take him to the vet tomorrow.  If he's trying to, but cant urinate, take him to the vet NOW.  ~D
