My cat has recently began urinating on carpets and rugs. She will not wet on bare floors but will go on clothes and stuff if it is on the floor. She ruined the rugs in our bedroom but has not gone in there since i removed the rugs. Now she is wetting on the carpet in front of the bathroom and in the childrens rooms if they don't shut the doors. How do i get her to stop?

She should be evaluated of medical causes such as a urinary tract infection or diabeties.  If everything medically checks out, the number one cause for this is an inappropriate number of litter boxes.  You should have one more box than number of cats, i.e. 1 cat - 2 boxes.  Some cats like to urinate in one and have bowel movemnets in the other.  They should also be in a non high traffic area where she can have some privacy.  The boxes should be cleaned daily.
