Cause of vomiting

Rating: 6

My dog has been vomiting off and on for two days. Overnight his vomit contained undigested dog food and then frothy yellow stuff. He also had a little bit of dark brown diarrhea. Any ideas what I should do? He hasn't been to a kennel or groomer in about 4 weeks. He has had all his necessary vaccines. He eats Iams for older dogs.

The dark brown diarrhea can be suggestive of stomach or small intestinal bleeding (NOT internal bleeding as in bleeding to death).  If he likes to eat things that are not food this type of problem can happen.  If this is the case, give him an adults dose of mylanta 2-3 times a days and see if things get better.  If he is lethargic and not eating, he should be examined
