Yes, 20 pounds is kinda much for a mini poodle. Generally the back of the bags will tell you how much to feed, however, excercising is the best way to keep your dog fit and healthy. Also ask your vet how much a day he thinks is best to feed your poodle. And though he is a young dog, make sure there are no underlying health issues such as hypothyroidism that may be causing his weight gain. Its always best to contact your vet.

If you remember the brand of food maybe you can stop by the store you purchased it from and just read the baack of the bag there? Because I am not a vet I cannot give you an exact amount. The best I can do is recommend no more than 3/4-1  cup of dry a day, again without knowing the exact type of diet your dog is on it is not accurate, and canned food, no more than 1/2 a can a day. I hope this helps you.
