I would get a stool sample, along with Pete, if he has not been seen recently, to your veterinarian. There is a chance of parasites...even if he has been "de-wormed." The most common one that causes these symptoms is coccidia.
I would also avoid any licking on the face from Pete at this time until you get him checked out. Many parasites have zoonotic potential. Meaning they can be passed on to their people...especially children.
