Hi. First look at the tummy for evidence of a scar on the skin. Failing that, feel around the belly button with the tips of your fingers. If non absorbable suture material was used, you might be able to feel the knots there, suggesting she has been spayed. However, if absorbable suture material was used, you wouldn't and it will be impossible to tell by examination. Of course it is also possible that she had an operation other than spaying so this method is not definitive anyway. Otherwise you can either contact the source where you obtained the dog and find out her history, or you can just wait and see if she has a season (her vulva will swell and start dripping blood). This happens every 31 weeks or so. The only other definitive way is to get a vet to look inside her abdomen via ultrasound. Good luck.
