i have a 9 year old female cat. and its been peeing out of the litter box for almost 1 and a half year. in the beginning i didnt think anything of it. but recently its been doing it more and more. so i brought it to the vet and took a urine and blood test. result came out saying shes normal. then we did ultra sound to see if she have bladder infection. result came out saying its normal that no bladder mass or stone but the dorsal bladder is a slightly thickened which due to inflamation. vet gave medicine for my cat to eat for only a week. after a week if its still peeing outside the litter box. its been 4 days and its still peeing outside litter box. what is the problem here??

Hi, thanks for the question. Could I please have some more information- is she peeing more frequently in general but with the same frequency, just outside the litter tray? Is she having any trouble passing urine? Has her behaviour changed in any other way? Is she peeing in any particular spot in the house more frequently? If she has been found to be healthy then this may be a behavioural problem. Try changing her cat litter to a different type as some cats can be fussy about this. Also try getting a litter tray with a roof as she might prefer the privacy! There are plug-in's you can get (ask your vet) that release feline pheromones into the environment, which have a calming effect on cats, in case stress is playing a part. Finally, if she is favouring a particular spot, you can place either aluminium foil there or a small bowl of cat food.......the foil will be noisy when peed on which may discourage her and the food may discourage her as cats don't like to eat and pee in the same spot! Hope this helps and please let me know if you have any more questions.

hello... she pees outside like she pees inside. only when she needs to. she twitches when she pees. which she never use to do when she pees in the in litter box. no, i don't notice any changes in her behavior. she don't favor a particular spot. thank you for your advice. i'll definitely try and see what happens. :)
