No not directly wait until the horse has recovered eg: stopped sweating and blowing and has become relaxed in the uk advice is to wait for 30 mins if possible and to wait an hour after very hard or fast work. Also important to allow the horse access to water after it has stopped blowing and sweating before you feed him or her. However if you have been for a gentle hack or spent the last half an hour walking back to the stables there is no problem imagine you have run a race or played energetic tennis you would not want to eat straightaway but a gentle stroll would be no problem.

I would not feed your horse directly after working. It may cause colic. Cool your horse down by light trotting or walking, and give it small bits of water.
