Jessi recently (the past 4 months) has had seizures. She has been in to the vet to get set up on treatment and check ups on her liver function etc and has been doing fine.
Jessi has had a very bad outbreak of skin alergies which required two shots to bring it back undercontrol. Neither were cortizone but were antibiotics, some kind of new one, and a shot to bring down the inflamation.
Part of the effects of her seizures was urinating but that stopped with the medications.
Last night's wetting was different. I woke up to a wet bed and changed the bed and then went back to sleep. She again wet the bed and that ended the bottom waterproof sheets so she stayed on the floor. This morning I woke up and found two more wet spots on the floor. None of the wettings followed the trend of past seizure wettings where she would jerk and wiggle. I am a very light sleeper so would even hear her if she was not on the bed but was jerking in another room and I would go to her and be there when she awoke to try to calm her confusion.
Is it possible that the occurrances last night were not a result of seizures but incontinence? Is there anything I can do to keep the wetting controlled so my house doesn't become a kennel and neither Jessi nor I have to deal with this problem as we enter old age? I want to work to make her life comfortable as she is very hearty and outgoing even with all these issues and she definitely is aware that she is making a mess and this has always been forbidden.
Is there anything you can suggest?
Thank you,
Ayesha
