My 6mo. old puppy has been very lethargic since yesterday. He has no appetite and when I let him in the house today, he vomited yellow. I can call his name and he will look at me but not come.

I would definetly call your vet and get him seen. He is a puppy, and they love to get into everything, so him eating something that dosen't agree w/him probably will make him feel a little under the weather. Also, the yellow stuff he vomited is most likely bile. If they don't eat, then they have nothing in their stomach so they will occassionally vomit bile. But definetly get him in to be seen!

When I talked to a vet today, they want me to get a stool sample. Kind of hard to do living in the country and having 2 other dogs. They already assume parvo and warned me that it is very expensive to treat. He has a vet appt. tomorrow. Is parvo that expensive to treat? Kind of on a tight budget. Can afford the $41 vet fee, but approx. how much more am I looking at? My kids love this puppy and would be devastated if anything happened to him. I'm afraid if I wait too long, it could be too late.

That is true, Parvo is usually very contagious among dogs though. If your other dogs are around the puppy and are not showing the same signs, it's unlikely that could be it. How long ago did Spot get his vaccine? Sometimes they can show signs of the virus but not exactly have it...kinda like w/people. Also, is her diarrhea dark (like tarry) which indicates intestinal bleeding and very VERY smelly? If so then that's a good indication of parvo. Also, if you can't get a stool sample, alot of the times they can get it inhouse. I hope I helped and keep me updated and let me know if you have more questions!

I haven't seen any diarreah. The other dogs are fine. We haven't vaccinated any of the other dogs either because my boyfriend says they are just "farm dogs". My son just gave him a milkbone and he gobbled it down and got up when I called his name. I will watch him thru the night and tomorrow before the vet appt. This is very scary to me because I am attached to the puppy too. Just like having another kid around, probally just got into something or is just feeling under the weather. I plan on having him vaccinated tomorrow anyway just to ease my mind. Thanks a bunch. Never thought to look fo the same symptoms in the other dogs. I will let you know if it is parvo.
