Strokes?

Rating: 10
Tinkerbell
Tinkerbell

Tinkerbell is an older dog, but likes to play and have fun. However, lately she has been having trouble walking and sometimes will just fall down for no reason. She also will have times where for several days she will not get up because it appears she is in pain. It will subside, and everything appears to be normal. During this time, her legs are stiff and massaging her lower back and giving her baby aspirin seems to help a lot. She also has constantly goopy eyes and she sneezes and hacks quite frequently (unrelated to latter condition). What could be wrong? We feel bad for her, but being she is so old, we wonder what we can do for her.

The trouble walking and related symptoms could be some arthritis settling in, especially with an older pet. The baby aspirin can be helping with that some, but it can cause GI upset and/or ulcerations. I would check with your vet for a diagnosis and treatment.
