My cats pupils are different sizes. Is this normal or an indication of an illness?

This isn't normal. It can indicate trauma, in which case there would be other signs, or a neurological problem. The most likely reason is a problem with the eye itself- something like uveitis for example could cause this. It's wise to err on the side of caution with eyes as the consequences of damage can be so serious, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a vet to examine her.
