leaks urine

We adopted a 6 month old puppy a week ago. She is already spayed. she leaks urine when at rest. she had mange and lyme disease and was on medication. What should be done

    Make sure she gets a check up by your vet to try and rule out a few things. A urinary tract infection is probably the most common issue I will see at this age, so make sure you take in a urine sample with you. Other issues that are a possibility are urinary incontinence ( more common in females spayed very early) and something called an ectopic ureter ( which is basically a plumbing problem with the ureters exiting in a slightly different place to normal causing urinary issues). Sometimes high salt diets ( ie lots of treats or cold cuts of meat from the deli counter) can also aggravate any mild urinary issues. Good luck with her

    I hope thats all it is as that is an easy fix. However urinary incontinence can usually also be easily managed but often requires a lifelong pill to help out. Keep me posted
