Symba suddenly seemed to develop weakness in her hind quarters today. She does not seem to have full control of her hind legs when walking and cannot jump as usual.

Hi there, I am sorry to hear about Symba's problem. Unfortunately, due to her age and the clinical signs you describe, I am a bit concerned that she may have a clot in her bloodstream that could be causing the problem. Other possibilities could be arthritis or a neurological problem, but clot is definitely high on my list. She needs immediate veterinary attention, so I would advise taking her in as soon as possible!! Good luck!

Dr. Spar, thank you for your summation, she does seem a little better at this time, but i will definitely take her to our vet in the morning if the problem remains. Nanci
