My mare's shoe came off (partially) yesterday and the clip went into her white line. It's not too deep, but she's sore. How should I treat this injury?

I'm a small animal veterinarian and developed a healthy respect for equine lameness over the course of my veterinary education. This is worth a phone call to your vet for some advice to prevent the lameness from worsening.
