Red blood in dog's stool

5 year old shih tzu. Red blood and mucus in stool right at the end of going to the bathroom. Dog is acting normally

    It could be a number of things.  If he is not on a monthly dewormer, he needs to have his stool examined by your vet.  If he likes to eat things that are not food, or if he gets table food, these can cause it too.  There are thousands of diseases that can cause this.
