My puppy got sick

I came back today after being gone for about a half an hour and my five month old puppy had vomited all over the apartment. There was a large amount in one area full of food which had to of been from yesterday as he has barely touched his food from this morning, as well as 3 or 4 smaller areas which were mostly mucus with small amounts of food in it. He had also pooped an excessive amount. Most of it was solid but there were small amounts of diarrhea. His diet hasn't changed and I was wondering what may have caused this. I'm not sure if this is an isolated incident of an upset stomach or if I should seek veterinary assistance in person.

Make sure your puppy has been dewormed with a veterinary dewormer recently. Then starve 24hrs (plenty of water) and offer chicken and rice only for 3 days in small portions. If your dog cannot keep down even water though you will need to seek urgent veterinary attention.

    Good luck

I'd like to thank you for answering my question so quickly. It turns out that you were right. I had him dewormed when I first brought him to the vet, but some how he did end up with roundworms. He would randomly get sick because of this and it ended up affecting his apppetite. They finally found them when I had him in to be neutered. Fortunately I now know what to consider when he gets sick like that again and I know to make sure he stays up on deworming.  Thanks again!
