we just found 4 ticks on our dog which we believe are female black legged deer ticks. We looked online to see which looked closest. should we take our dog in or wait till morning and call the vet. and should we be worried about lyme disease or anything like that?

Waiting until morning if fine.  Deer ticks do transmit Lymes disease, but not all deer ticks have Lymes disease.  Your dog should be placed on a topical tick preventative year round and a tick serology should be performed in three months to make sure he is negative.
