I have a foster puppy that scratches excessivly, i've changed her food, given her oatmeal baths, benadryl, K9 Advantix, flea bath. You name it, its been done. The poor baby scratches in her sleep & is starting to get all pink skinned. She's already been tested for mange & it was negative. Help, please....

    Hi

Mange is still the most likely diagnosis here. The test throws up many false negatives. I would advise treating her for mange anyway as there are no adverse reactions to that treatment to worry about really, at worst it's a waste of time and a little money, at best curative.

After that, I would start her on a prescription allergy diet (your vet can recommend one) and give no other treats. If she is still itchy after a 4-6wks of that you will have to consider atopy (environmental allergies requiring immunosuppressive drugs) or rare bacterial infections.
