my 6 year old female german shepard developed almost overnite a large hard lump inder her eye as if she had been biteen by something....what to do, expect it looks painful, she eats and acts otherwise normally

Sounds like it may be a tooth abscess. She should be placed on antibiotics and she should have a dental cleaning and have that tooth removed. A veterinary dentist may be able to save the tooth with a root canal.
