As long as the puppies are growing, nursing and seem to be doing fine they do not need to see the vet until about 4-6 weeks old for their 1st set of shots.  In the meantime, you can deworm them every 2 weeks starting at 2 weeks until they are 10-12 weeks old.  This can vary between vets.  I usually use strongid at 1 ml/10 lbs.  So they will need to be weighed.  Your vet will check a fecal on them on their 1st visit to see if they have any intestinal parasites.  It's also important to deworm momma as well, otherwise she will continue to pass her parasites to the pups.

The 4-6 week check will be a good time for your vet to determine if all is normal with the pups and to rule out any congenital problems that might be there (i.e. cleft palates, hernias, etc.).

If you have any questions about the pups before their 1st visit then go ahead and take them to the vet.  The main thing for the health of the pups is to make sure they are nursing well.  Any sign of not nursing is a good reason to take them in to see the vet.  Hope this helps.
