should i be concerned about wetting
  • Mark Nunez

      Mark Nunez says:

If it only happens when she is asleep or at rest you are likely dealing with hormonal incontinence (which is common is spayed females).  A urinalysis should be performed to rule out infection and baseline bloodwork (CBC/Chem Panel) should be performed.  If all tests are normal she will need to be on medication to strenghten bladder control.  The medication of choice is call PPA for short.  Some vets use DES (a form of estrogen) but it can have lots of side effects.  A chem panel and urinalysis should be performed aver 6 months after starting PPA and she will need it for life
