My 4 year old adopted dog will poop outside but will go back later and do more inside in the same spots where she's gone before. Why is this and how can I stop her? Thank you!

A very common reson that this occurs is that she gets taken back inside right after she goes. So, she goes a little bit and then tries to get some play time in. Try giving her a little extra time outside. When you bring her back inside, put her in her crate (assuming you're using one) for 5 minutes and then bring her back outside. NEVER let her out of your site and monitor for signals that she needs to go (circling while sniffing, whinning out of nowwhere, Stopping a behavior to go to the door or sniff and circle). If the both of you are indoors together, she should never be out of your sight. Feed her on a regular basis and give her the opportunity to go after waking up (from naps too) and before bed and 10 minutes after eating drinking or playing.
