Vomitting

My mini is usually very excited about mealtime, loves to ride in the car, and is very vocal with me. However, this evening I found her laying in the bed and she didn't want to come eat dinner. Further, she acted very listless and wouldn't even respond to "wanna go in the car?" I returned a few minutes later to find she had vomitted, she was panting and quivering. She acted much like a human with a sick stomach. I made sure she drank some fresh water, and turned on the ceiling fan for her. She has since vomitted again and obviously doesn't fell well. Should I panic or could this simply be a case of upset stomach?

Symptoms: Lethargy, Vomiting

  Hi there, This could simply be an indigestion type of thing, but it may be something more serious than that. I would need to assess your dog in order to tell which - temperature, hydration status, etc. If he looks very uncomfortable and in pain, I would recommend an immediate visit to the vet. If he just looks mildly uncomfortable, you could just not feed him anything tonight, then try some boiled chicken and rice in the morning. Like I said, it is impossible for me to say what is going on, but if you think he is in real pain, take him to the emergency vets if needed. Good luck!

  earlier today, it was only a very tiny amount that was left in a cup. active ingredient is Cetyl pyridium chloride... brand name is Breath Rx. she is still panting.

  I looked on my subscription website, and it does not mention that ingredient as anything directly toxic, but i suppose it could cause the vomitting even if it isnt toxic. I would really consider taking her to the vet, if anything they can give her some anti-nausea medicine, maybe re-hydrate her, etc. Good luck!

  read the label and it says to contact poison control if swallowed. i contacted them and they advised calling a vet, too. thanks for your help!
