My cat has recently started dragging her water dish across the kitchen tile, and will often try to drag it over the small ledge at the doorway to tip it over. She does this even when I have just washed and put fresh water in her dish. She also has recently taking a liking to me putting ice cubes in her water. That is fine but the dragging is driving me crazy as she does it all hours of the night & day. Why is she doing this?

Hi Cats are funny creatures.
There may be a few reasons for this. Perhaps she doesn't like fresh water it is, after all, full of strong chemicals. Cats often prefer drinking rain water out of puddles or water that has sat around for a bit. Some cats don't like narrow bowls as their whiskers touch the sides. Or she may be simply tipping it over as she likes to watch it run away and she might like trying to catch it. ice cubes might be fun if they move around.
Try a wider, heavier bowl that she can't tip over and can get to without her whiskers touching the sides. Make sure she has other toys that move about, ping pong balls for example. Use filtered water that has sat for a while rather than straight out of the tap.
I wouldn't worry too much.
Hope this helps

Good Dog? Bad Dog? By Rosie Barclay. This book concentrates on changing the traditional views of how we perceive and treat our dogs using what we have learned from scientific research so far. It starts at the beginning by looking at ways of how to chose and bring up a new puppy that may reduce the likelihood of future problems. It then goes on to cover different problems that commonly occur between owners and their maturing or adult dogs by discussing real case studies. TO BUY VISIT www.rosiebarclay.com
