I haven't received a question related to ear mites/fungus. Sorry. Maybe it has been answered by someone else, but if not, please try again.

Gosh, I thought that someone might have some kind of home remedy for the ear mites? The fungus (i think the vet called it acne) on my cat's nose....it has actually diminished a little since my last typing But if anyone has any advice I would be grateful! thank you

Thanks for getting back to us. Acne is usually a bacterial rather than a fungal infection, but both can clear up spontaneously, so if it's diminshing hopefully that will happen. I'm afraid i don't know of a home remedy for ear mites. Very thorough daily cleaning may help a bit- it won't kill the mites but it might dislodge a few, but you can damage the ears by overcleaning them, so if your cat has anything but the mildest infestation, you'll probably need some medication- a spot-on or ear drops. Best of luck!

Though not a home remedy, the medication for ear mites I have seen the best results with is called Mita-Clear

They do make heartworm/flea medications for cats that also kill ear mites. They are applied topically like your flea medications but have to be purchased at your Veterinarian's office. Also are you sure it is ear mites? Ear infections can also appear to be ear mites to owner's. The blackish debris found in ear canals can also be yeast and bacteria. I would recommend you have the ear canals examined by a Doctor and then he can get you on the right path. Good luck
