Adopting

I want to adopt a cat. My boyfriend is reluctant because the previous cat who lived at the house use to not make the litter box at times, especially as she got older. He is afraid that the new cat will still smell the spots from the old cat and will then start doing the same thing. Even though the carpets have been replaced since the old cat died.

It would be worth thoroughly cleaning the areas from previous urine spills and also considering putting the litter trays for the new cat in different places. I think you should be ok.

Every day I see pets come into my clinic injured and unwell. Its always so upsetting knowing that treatment could be taken a lot further only if the owner had taken out pet insurance. You have health insurance, so should your pet... Dr Brooks
