If this is a new behaviour it's definitely not normal. Is it a daily occurrence and for how long as it been happening? It could be something as simple as dietary sensitivity, especially if she's changed diet recently, but also there could be something more sinister going on, something that is obstructing the gastric outflow, so it would be worth getting her checked out if it's a longer term thing.

this has been happening for a year, if i feed her before her normal feed time then she does it.i thought it was because she didnt want anyone else to get it ,bit like hiding a bone.she does however go back to it later and eat it.i thought it maybe more behaviour, but if you think it could be medical i feel bad now. i am a single mum and my full-time employment is taking care of my kids and home. i dread going to the vets because it costs so much and i no she is worth it but if you havnt got it in the first place. Minty came to us 2 years ago and at the age of 9 is getting older so that is why i dont have pet insurance.does anyone know of help i could get please?....Minty needed an emergencey hysterectomy and it cost me £500 that iam still paying off. I love Minty and would hate her to be in any discomfort but she seems ok.really appreciate your advice and support,Thank you

Please don't feel bad- you obviously love her and she is happy and has a good quality of life. If it's gone on for a year without her getting ill then it may be a bit of a behavioural quirk or perhaps a change in feeding regime is required. You could try feeding her little and often with a more bland food. But don't worry too much about it.
