Cat With UTI

I received an answer to my last question and I know you people can do better. I have a 4 year old female cat who has been fighting a uti for over 2 months. She was doxycycline and it did not work. She never liked wet food since day one. She is now eating Purina UR ST/OX dry food. I also had her on Merrick no grain food. I have pressed on her bladder, kidneys and stomach and no pain. She uses the litter box and strains but sometimes very little comes out, sometimes nothing and sometimes she will have a fairly good urination. I have tried some of the herbal remedies and they work for a short time and stop. She is not crying and has never lost her appetite. Her eyes are bright and she is in pretty good spirits. Any suggestions of what else I can do here at home. I am not happy with my vet and doing some research to find a holistic vet in my area.

Im afraid Im not sure how else to help you on this. I have made some suggestions in my previous response http://www.televets.com/archive/3426/female-cat-with-uti.html

Has she had urinalysis, contrast xrays and further work ups at your vet to make sure there isnt a bigger underlying problem?

Let me know her urinalysis results and I may be able to help further.

Every day I see pets come into my clinic injured and unwell. Its always so upsetting knowing that treatment could be taken a lot further only if the owner had taken out pet insurance. You have health insurance, so should your pet... Dr Brooks
