I recently bought a laser cat toy at the local grange where I live. My cat Callie loves it and goes nuts. But once she gets going for awhile she breathes heavy and occasionaly pants. Is that normal? Or should I be concerned?

It is unusual for a cat to pant, or breathe through the mouth. It's probably just the activity, particularly if it's in a hot environment, but keep an eye on her. If this happens or you notice any breathing difficulties at other times it'd be worth getting her checked out. In the mean time, rest breaks during play area good idea- if she loves it so much it would be a shame to not use it!
