Don't know what to do next

My 7 year old boxer is puffing her cheeks out instead of panting. She has whitish foam on the sides of her mouth. She seems to be breathing like she's been running but she is just sitting in the den. I brought her to the vet @ 2 months ago with the puffing. She had blood work and everything came back fine. My vet was puzzled and wanted to do an mri. I have no insurance. Is there anything you might think it could be? Do you think I should have the mri done?

Its difficult to know exactly whats going on without seeing her but I would suggest chest xrays before rushing to do an MRI. Cardiomyopathies are common in Boxers so this would be an important rule out. Hope that helps, David

Every day I see pets come into my clinic injured and unwell. Its always so upsetting knowing that treatment could be taken a lot further only if the owner had taken out pet insurance. You have health insurance, so should your pet... Dr Brooks
