Tobie, my one year old JRT, vomited earlier (contained a full rubber band) tonight as soon as we came in from our walk. Now, he is very lethargic and he is slightly shaking.Should I take him to an emergency clinic, or can I wait until tomorrow? How concerned should I be?

Symptoms: Lethargy, Vomiting, Diarrhea

I see your question was asked a few hours ago. If he is still shaking and very lethargic yes you should take him to the emergency clinic. Shaking can be a pain response amongst other things. I do get concerned about foreign body ingestion and the chance of an intestinal obstruction happening. Do you think he may have eaten something else along with the rubber band ( food or other objects)? Have you been able to check his temperature? Normal temperature rectally is about 102-102.5F. If it is much lower or much higher than this with his current symptoms he should definately be seen by your vet. I hope he feels better soon

I took him to the vet this morning because he was still lethargic, and we are having him tested for epilepsy, because the x-rays showed no signs of obstruction. Thanks for the help.

I hope they got to the root of Tobie's problem soon and that he is on his way to recovery
