  my cat licks her paws and bites herself when i touch her backside near her tail. she cries. she is 10 years old maine coon

  Hi,

  This could be a number of things - possibly a tail base abscess or impacted anal glands causing her discomfort. It could also be purely a resentment to being touched in that area. Some cats are very protective of themselves.

  If she seems in discomfort have her checked by your vet
