Cat emergency

Rating: 9

My ten-year old grey tabby cat just threw up about an hour ago. Since then she's been lethargic. She's panting, her eyes are dialated and sometimes they roll back in her head. She also tips over easily. What could be causing this?

There are a number of potential causes for vomiting and possible central nervous symptoms like this. A toxin exposure would be high on my list and your question title really dictates what you should do here. This is a genuine cat emergency and you should call your emergency veterinarian immediately

    Good luck, David

Every day I see pets come into my clinic injured and unwell. Its always so upsetting knowing that treatment could be taken a lot further only if the owner had taken out pet insurance. You have health insurance, so should your pet... Dr Brooks
