Something More Serious?

  • Riley

My 3 year old Boston Terrier has had really bad gas for the last 4-5 days and he has been drinking a lot of water. No change in diet and I do not think he has got into anything he shouldn't have. Doesn't seem to be overly lethargic and he is still eating normally. Any idea what is going on?

    Symptoms: increased thirst & urination

    Hi

If you are still concerned, it would be helpful if you measured his water consumption over a 24hr period. Put say 500ml in his bowl, if he drinks it up, add another 500ml. After 24hrs, pour what is left into the measuring jug and subtract ti from the total. If you could also weigh the dog (e.g. on your bathroom scales, your weight carrying dog minus your weight), then post his 24hr water consumption and his weight as your response, then I can tell you whether this is serious or not.

    Best regards
