Lexi has had 4 sores on her belly for 4 days now. i have washed them off and applied antibacterial ointment. they are still there. She is 9 and i'm worried about cancer. She has a lot of lypomas. Can some be cancer which has infiltrated the skin. She was at the vet office 3 mos ago. other than the benign lumps the vet said she was ok. I'm worried. She mainly sleeps on the side the sores are on. please advise.

My best advise to you is to only wash the sores with diluted iodine and I would have your vet prescribe an antibiotic ointment. If she has a skin irritation some times applying an ointment like neoosporin can be harmful. It sounds like it could be a staph infection, which is easily treatable, so do not worry. Please take her to the vet where she can get some antibiotics and please try and keep her from licking it...if she is a licker....Thanks and have a good evening and give Lexi a hug for me!
