My dog has been vomiting

Rating: 9

My bichon-poodle seems to vomit whenever I am at work or for long periods during the day (never when I am home or on weekends). This occurs almost daily. The vet has given him Metoclopromide, and a few other things, thinking it was an intestinal thing. Is it possible that it could be behavioral? He was abused and neglected in his last home, so I'm curious if it is an attachment/behavioral issue? Thanks! :)

It certainly could be behavioural, but physical causes need to be carefully ruled out before making a diagnosis in this area. If it is a behavioural problem, it would be most likely to be related to anxiety disorders, which are more common in dogs with a history of neglect/ poor socialisation. The treatment for this group of problems usually centres around desensitisation and new behaviour shaping.
