I have a 4 month old Beagle, She has a red lump on her stomach the size of a dime it's not oozing or weeping any fluids nor is there any foul odor. When you apply slight pressure she whimpers. Any suggestions?

Is this lump in the belly button area? Hard to tell from your pic but is a great shot of the lump! thanks, it really does help when pics are uploaded...

I suspect it could be an umbilical hernia if in the belly button area (mid abdomen). If it is painful and swollen like this I would definately recommend having her checked out

Every day I see pets come into my clinic injured and unwell. Its always so upsetting knowing that treatment could be taken a lot further only if the owner had taken out pet insurance. You have health insurance, so should your pet... Dr Brooks

no worries about the low rating. accidents happen. I saw the pic from your new post: http://www.televets.com/archive/3185/my-rating.html

I have to say it looks a little high up on the chest to be an umbilical hernia. It could be an infected sting or an ingrowing hair. Definately still warrants a check up with your vet.

    Cheers, David
