Hi, My cousins 2 rag doll cats have had some issues lately. theyve been to the vet and the oldestest Sebastian had some of these symptomns before and they gave him medicine but it still didnt really help. Shes noticed today that the other cat is now drooling. Both of the cats are sneezing and have some eye discharge, and it seems like one of the cats doesnt pee very much while the other had a very strong odor, and has had some loose stools. Can youplease help me and helping my cousin out?! What can be do, They are Rag Dolls and are both a year old. Symptoms are drooling, sneezing, clear eye discharge, some loose stools, strong urine odor and one doesnt to seem to go alot?

    Hi

The sneezing/drooling/eye discharge is most likely cat flu, if they are both showing these signs then it is probably an infectious cause. Cat flu is caused by viruses, and there aren't really antiviral medications on the market (just like if you have regular flu, your doctor won't give you antivirals). Vets will give antibiotics, as cats with viral cat flu are susceptible to secondary bacterial infections. I would suggest that your cats both need to be given a stronger antibiotic than the previous one - either Baytril or Doxycycline perhaps, for 2wks.

    Good luck
