Pug lethargic and shaky

  • Boo

My pug is shaky and lethargic, he is normally crazy excited in the morning. I did get him to eat a few little treats. Last night he ate some carrots, celery, lettuce, tomato, and tofu that fell off the table while we were cooking. All of which he has ate before (carrots are a regular treat). He doesn't appear to have gotten into anything and he isn't having any stomach problems. He won't drink water out of a cup if I bring it to him.

    Symptoms: lethargy, behavioral

    Hi

If your dog is off his food for a day or two, it is nothing to worry about too much. Just rest him and monitor him. It might be worth buying a thermometer and sticking it several centimetres into his anus for 1 minute to measure his rectal temperature. If this is high, then he has picked up an infection from somewhere and this would explain the inappetance and lethargy. If he has a high temperature you should have him checked out by a vet.

    Good luck
